Plenary conference (choice of either virtual or on-site in Barcelona)
This year’s plenary conference (20-21 October 2021), open to all AE Members, as well as members of the Young Academy of Europe (YAE), will feature a hybrid format, meaning that delegates can either register to attend virtually via Zoom, or they can indicate their intention to reserve one of the (limited) spots for attending the conference on-site at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB).
Please tick the corresponding box on the registration form below; the fee amount due will be updated accordingly (virtual attendance 50€ per delegate; on-site attendance 200€ per delegate).
Class meetings (virtual)
Class meetings, organised by Class Chairs along with their respective Section committees, require advance registration, which must be completed at the same time as registration for the plenary programme. AE Members are encouraged to also register for one or more of these Class meetings (not just their own corresponding Class’ meeting), in addition to the plenary programme.
Please tick the corresponding box(es) on the registration form below; Class meetings do not involve any additional registration fee beyond the basic plenary conference fee.
YAE Annual General Meeting (virtual)
AE Members are also welcome to join the YAE AGM, free of charge. More information on how to register for this meeting is available on the YAE website.
President’s dinner (on-site in Barcelona; optional but requires a separate registration fee)
Following the enormous success achieved by the first-ever President’s dinner in 2019, this event returns in 2021 in an adapted format, in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions. The dinner will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 (venue and format to be confirmed).
The dinner is optional and open to delegates participating in the on-site plenary conference in Barcelona. However, it requires a separate registration fee, which must be included during registration for the plenary conference. Please note that spaces for the dinner are limited, and any dietary restrictions or allergies should be notified at the time of registration.
Field trip (on-site in Barcelona; optional but requires a separate registration fee)
As is tradition, a post-conference field trip is being planned for Friday (October 22, 2021). This year we will travel by coach bus to the port city of Tarragona, the oldest Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula and one of great importance. Dating from before the 3rd c. BC, the archaeological ensemble of Tarraco, featuring a beautiful amphitheatre, circus, city walls and praetorium, etc., was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000.
The field trip is optional and open to delegates participating in the on-site plenary conference in Barcelona. However, it requires a separate registration fee, which must be included during registration for the plenary conference; the fee includes round-trip coach bus transportation from Barcelona, lunch and admission to sites included on the tour. Please note that spaces for the field trip are limited.
Virtual participants (Class Sessions and virtual plenary programme) 50 €
